You’re about to walk through the “why,” the “what,” and the “how” of Activity Services — from where the profession started, to how we build meaningful engagement today, to the real-world systems that keep a department running (without you living at work).
This course is organized into four units:
Unit 1: Where Have We Been, Where Are We Going – a historical and regulatory foundation for the activity profession.
Unit 2: Tools of the Trade – how to assess preferences, build person-centered programs, and communicate your value on the team. (This unit is broken into 3 modules.)
Unit 3: Tricks of the Trade – time management, organization, delegation, and professional communication.
Unit 4: Keys to Success – barriers to participation, motivation, leadership, professional growth, and resiliency.
What You’ll Need Before You Start
To fully participate, please have the following ready before starting Unit 1:
Course access in the LMS lessons and learning activities are embedded throughout).
Textbook: Activity Professionals in Action (readings are assigned across units, provided digitally within the course).

Each lesson is built in a consistent order so you always know what’s coming:
