How do topics help in conversation?

So I added the topic in the lesson builder in the course…and clicked on it and now I can add content to the topic…

Topics allow us to shape conversations, organize thoughts and create structure around topics of discussion. They provide focus for discussions and give clarity to topics that may be broad and expansive. By using topics we can identify core topics of conversation, define boundaries so our focus is clear and direct, as well as differentiate topics from one another when necessary. Topics help to define the pace and direction of conversation by providing a way to identify topics at hand, allowing us to discuss them more efficiently. Knowing topics allows us to form meaningful dialogue with others, expressing related ideas within the same context. Ultimately, topics support communication in all its forms – whether hearing, reading or writing – making conversations happen.
